Starborough is a family owned and operated boutique Marlborough wine producer, with vineyards in the Wairau and Awatere valleys. In 1865, William Jones came to Marlborough from England looking for a farm and a brighter future. Four generations later the Jones family continue that tradition with Starborough wines. Read more about Starborough’s viticulturalist and winemaker.
Today the Jones family own and operate 160 hectares of vineyards in three unique vineyard blocks  – on the southern bank of the Awatere Valley, the lower Dashwood and the Wairau Valley. This includes the original Starborough sheep station homestead block for which their wine is named. The Jones family continue their tradition of arable farming as well as viticulture and winemaking.
Starborough Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir wines express the distinctive flavours and characteristics of our three Marlborough vineyards.
Each has a unique combination of soil and climate which influences and produces its
own distinct character in
our wine.
